Convenient Payment Options

Liberty Utilities knows that different customers have different needs when it comes to managing their account. That’s why we offer easy ways to pay for and manage your Liberty Utilities bill.

Please use your 16-digit Liberty Utilities account number for payments. 

This number begins with “88” and is located in the upper right corner of your monthly statement. 

Pay Online

There are two options for paying your bill online:

Pay with Credit Card.

Mastercard or Visa accepted. A third-party convenience fee is charged: $3.50 for residential accounts (minimum payment of $5; maximum payment of $600) and $8.95 for commercial accounts (minimum payment of $5; maximum payment of $1,200; Rate Codes E50, E5A, E52 only).

Pay one-time with debit card or electronic check. 

This on-line option also incurs the same third-party convenience fees as with a credit card payment.

NOTE: Please have your account number (located in the upper right corner of your billing statement) as well as your credit card number, debit card number or checking account routing number available. Please do not use hyphens when entering your 16-digit account number.

Pay by Phone

Payments can be made by credit card, debit card or checking account by calling 1-800-782-2506. You can either use our 24/7 automated payment system or speak with a customer service representative Monday-Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.  Payments made by phone are charged a third-party convenience fee: $3.50 for residential accounts (minimum payment of $5; maximum payment of $600) and $8.95 for commercial accounts (minimum payment of $5; maximum payment of $1,200; Rate Codes E50, E5A, E52 only).

NOTE: Please allow 24-48 hours for your payment to post to your account.  If you are paying a past due account, please contact a customer service representative and confirm your payment.

Pay with Automatic Checking Account Deductions

You never have to worry about paying your bill on time with this convenient service known as Bank Draft/Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). With this option, money is automatically deducted from your checking account on or after the due date on your bill. There is no convenience fee charged. This option is available to all customers with a satisfactory credit history. Please complete this application and submit to:

Pay by Mail

To pay by mail, please return the lower portion of your statement along with a check or money order in the envelope provided with your bill. The remittance address below should show through the envelope window. If you do not have a return envelope with your statement, your payment should be mailed to:

We offer convenient locations for our customers to pay their bill in person if they wish.

NOTE: Liberty Utilities locations accept credit card, debit card, electronic check, paper check and cash.  If paying by credit card, debit card or electronic check, there is a third-party convenience fee (same as on-line charges). Please allow 24 - 48 hours for your credit card, debit card and electronic check payment to post to your account. No convenience fee is charged for a paper check or cash payment made in person. If you are paying a past due account, please confirm your payment with a customer service representative.

Convenient Walk-In Payment Locations

Liberty Utilities has partnered with local businesses in the communities to make paying your utility bill more convenient. Starting on April 24th, customers can now pay their utility bill at one of the five businesses listed below:

Tahoe Keys Liquor, 2297 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe, CA
Kmart, 1056 Emerald Bay Road, South Lake Tahoe, CA
Kings Beach Chevron, 8369 No. Lake Blvd., Kings Beach, CA
Portola Depot, 108 Commercial St., Portola, CA
Loyalton Pharmacy, 701 Main St., Loyalton, CA

Customers wishing to make their utility payment at one of the above locations must bring their bill stub with them, and pay by cash, check or money order. There is no additional convenience fee. Late payments are also accepted at these locations with a late fee assessed. Payments made at these locations will be posted within two business days.

Equal Payment Plan

Liberty Utilities’ Equal Payment Plan (EPP) allows you to even out your energy costs over the course of a year so your monthly payment is the same and your budget is easier to manage. Click here for more information.

Select Your Due Date

As a residential or commercial customer, you can select which day of the month (except holidays) you want your electric bill to be due. For more information on this program, click here.
